Who We Are

About The Reentry Blog

The Reentry Blog is a guide for formerly incarcerated citizens returning to New York City. It details important tasks you should try to complete soon after returning home and directs you to organizations dedicated to helping you have a smooth transition. Interspersed throughout this blog you will find personal stories of others who have returned home in recent years. There are many paths to reentry, so everyone’s journey and stories will be different. I hope this guide helps you find yours.*

Our Mission/Vision

Our mission/vision is a very modest one. We only wish to direct you to organizations dedicated to helping you have a smooth transition and to provide helpful guidance that brings you up-to-date as quickly as possible about matters that those who have not experienced your journey may deem to be unimportant. Little things, like how to use a MetroCard and to make sure you get your receipt when riding SBS buses, the neglect of which can get you a fine or maybe even arrested. And we seek to address far more important matters, like referrals to community-based resources and partners that address specific needs such as housing, employment, legal services, personal finances, and scholarship information.
